Dom Literatury (The House of Literature) is more than just a guesthouse in one of the most historical parts of the city. It is a piece of history itself. For seventy years, Polish writers have come to the House of Literature to share ideas, stories, and poetry. Each room is unique and some offer amazing views of the old castle square. The price is a little steep but if you're looking to experience history and local culture, this is the hotel to stay in.

The Dom Literatury is a place that has a lot of character and has an excellent location close to many restaurants, bars and many historic places. The living spaces are located on the top floor of a building that is shared with people who actually live there. The elevator is quite old and very slow so be prepared to use an easier and faster way up, the stairs. The rooms are spacious and very clean. They have a classic look that evokes the style of the 1980s in Poland. Breakfast is served in the corridor for you to take to your room since they have no breakfast room. If you book during any important Polish Holiday, you will have the chance of experiencing some of the action that takes place in the Castle Square. In brief, this is a reasonable alternative for families or leisure travelers.

This historic residence is located in the heart of the Old Town. Therefore, this is a perfect place for people interested in exploring Warsaw. Although the lobby and the stairway are a bit run down, the rooms are very classic and comfortable. Some of them have fascinating views of the Royal Palace so make sure you check for availability at the time of making your reservation. Moreover, a few rooms in the upper level have balconies that overlook the Old Town. I especially recommend room 30. This is a strong reason to choose Dom Literatury as your base while visiting Warsaw. The furniture is a bit outdated or could be unattractive, but who wants to stay in their room with such a nice location. Coffee and tea are available around the clock at various points in the hallway. The restaurant is on the first level and is not part of the hotel, but it is quite charming and reasonably priced especially on weekdays.
