No visit to the Smithsonian without a visit to the Air and Space. For me, it was so popular and crowded it was hard to enjoy.

Just like all the Smithsonians, this one is free to visit. Great history of how it all began to today's aircraft.

I feel like this museum is underrated and it's easily one of my favorites in DC. You can see some of the original planes that started everyone's love of travel across the nation and eventually across the world. You can see some of the earliest developments of space exploration. Great place to bring the whole family

Terrible staff. We visited with my wife that is disable and need special accommodations like using the elevators as she needs to use canes to walk, the guards from Allied Universal were rude poorly trained, they dont allow my wife to use the elevators, want to force her to walk without canes at the entrance. They were beligeran and use profanities against another visitors. Hardly beleive this is a Federally funded institution, back home I will write both our Representative and both of our Senators on the issue, I expect our Federal Government to respect and provide access to disable citizen's and not to allow Federal contractors to abuse their positions.

We loved this place. Planes and rockets everywhere. Lots of historical artifacts that i never thought i would see. Also, plenty of interactive things for the kids to touch and see. Almost too much to see in one day.

What an amazing museum! Very popular with children. Take a couple hours to see the several exhibitions and collections - including planes, spaceships, the IMAX theater, and the Einstein Planetarium. Every show at the Planetarium is visually stunning! A must-see for young and old.

A favorite while in DC. Summer of 2014 a new 3D movie on D-Day and WWII opened and it is captivating and well worth the add on cost. Museum itself is free. Planes, from the Wright Brothers to Columbia Space capsule, are hanging the the ceilings and scattered throughout the large space. Popular, crowded in the summer but always worth a visit. Great to see the Russian and American rockets side by side. Cool stuff for all fans of aviation including flight simulators.

No visit to DC is complete without a stop at one of the great Smithsonian Institutions. Air and Space is a popular museum for kids, with a look at our nation's aviation past, present, and future.

Contains a ton of artifacts from the lunar missions. Also has an exhibit dedicated to the Wright Brothers which contains a wealth of information on the beginnings of flight.
