Description
Ever wanted to visit the epicenter of that American bipartisan indecision you see reported nightly on the evening news? As home to the Senate and House of Representatives, the U.S. Capitol Building is ... Read more
where all that action has all been happening for the last two centuries. A new underground visitors center, nearly a quarter of the size of the Capitol Building itself, gives visitors the opportunity to learn about the workings of Congress through interactive and educational exhibits. Visitors can also see the galleries of the House or Senate when either are in session. Entrance is free but reservations are usually required.

Visiting is a little confusing. You must start in the modem visitor center. To see the rotunda you will need to join a tour (reserve a ticket online or stand in line at the visitor center) To visit the house or senate chamber you must contact your Representative and pick up passes.

Beautiful building and such a lovely spot to see in the park. We did not have the chance to go in though.

It’s place where all the government personnel and senator gathers up. Building is an greatest beauty of structure. Needs ton of hours to explore the capital.

Full of history, the United States Capitol Building is stunning inside and out. Hands down, a must-see in D.C. and the most one of the most beautiful buildings I have ever been in.

Sign up online to get your free tour pass and skip the lines if you are going during the summer. The tour was surprisingly interesting and worth the 45 minutes or so it took - allowing you to see more of the building and offering a lot of stories on the different statutes along the halls.

The Capitol building and the lawn are an impressive part of American history. A must-see in D.C.

The building reflects the beauty and the ugliness of American politics and the American system of government. Certainly, take a tour but I find a thoughtful, solitary walk-through the most satisfying.

The United States Capitol, also known as the Capitol Building or Capitol Hill, is the home of the United States Congress, and the seat of the legislative branch.

The US Capitol houses the United States Congress. It is the seat of the legislative branch of the National Government. It is one of the most iconic landmarks of the city.

It was incredible to finally have the chance to see what I have read so much about in the history books.

It is currently getting a "face lift" so pictures in front of it don't look as cool.

This place really takes you back to a different time. The art, sculptures, marble, stone, too much to mention lol is all around as soon as you walk in the door. We had a personal tour guide that was very knowledgeable about its history and super helpful at answering questions. Has a gift shop, restaurant located inside also. Free admission which is always AWESOME! Great for all ages

Visiting the Capitol is a must do in DC. Although the tour is mostly in the Rotunda it is a great option to learn more about the American history and curiosities! During springtime the scene outdoor is an attraction itself!

Our private capital tour was great even if rushed. We went to the Senate gallery the next day and met a lot of really nice people

Love going here and going on the free tours. Depending on who you have as a tour guide will determine how much fun and engaging it is!

Very easy to schedule a tour ahead of time with your local congressman if you know ahead time when you will be in D.C.

Amazing, but would recommend getting a letter to your state representatives office weeks in advance requesting a tour of the state capital for free. Amazing place.
