Was here for DineLA with some friends and the wife. It was ok...not to brag to the friends about. Service was mediocre, drinks were expensive and my food was on the salty side.

Went for DINE LA, the crostini's were really good, my favorite was the truffle mushroom one, they were also really nice and let us pick which crostini's we wanted even though the menu said chefs choice. The starter we had was a truffle mushroom croquet, which was wonderful as well. I had the salmon for the main, which was cooked perfectly with the skin very crispy but flavor wise it wasn't anything special. Their strawberry meringue dessert was also really good.

Beautiful space and good looking servers. Dishes tend to be on the small side and expensive.

Great ambiance! They have a happy hour menu with mini charcuterie boards which is great!

Upscale venue for a romantic date! We came here for happy hour on a week day. Great wine selection and fantastic crostinis appetizers, actually the best crostinis I've had so far in LA. We tried one each type (they are big enough to be cut in half and still have a big bite). My favorite: the Octopus, Manchego and Shrimp. Definitely a must try spot.

We went there for a romantic birthday celebration and it was simply amazing. The food was really good an the cocktails pretty tasty as well. A excellent moment (especially those little truffle appetisers). The location is superb as well. You can absolutely go for some snacks and drinks if you don't want to get a full seated diner.

My girlfriends came here for dinner to catch up with a girlfriend who lives out of town. I love a cutesy place and this place definitely didn't disappoint with the cuteness! This place has such a great ambiance with great interior design. Right when you walk in you see a wall full of olive oil bottles and a beautiful fig tree.

I was pretty hAngry when I came in, so I thought my tummy would be biased and would really enjoy everything. The food on the other hand wasn't that great or memorable. We ordered the artichoke, beef carpaccio, 6 random crostinis, truffle risotto, chilean sea bass and paella del mar.

We began with the bread and three different olive oils that were definitely different in taste! I couldn't believe how much a difference in taste they would be! The bread was soft, just the way I like it!

*artichoke: This wasn't what we were expecting. The artichoke was so cold to the point where it almost felt like we were eating a frozen artichoke. The waiter assured us that this was a chilled dish but all of us disliked it so much we had the waiter take it away.

*beef carpaccio: My favorite by far was the beef carpaccio which was absolutely amazing. The texture, the meat and the cheese were a delectable combination!

*Crostini: These little bites are a party in your mouth! We ordered whatever the waiter recommended, and they all tasted yummy!

*truffle risotto: Truffle on anything is... aaa-mazing! Delish and cooked perfectly.

*Chilean sea bass: this was slightly blan and not very memorable. The fish was cooked nicely and juicy but the sauce wasn't exciting.

*Paella del mar: my girlfriend was the one who had this dish and judging by the looks of how much was left.......

The service was great and the food didn't take too long to arrive at our table. This is definitely a cute place to have drinks and some appetizers if anything. The ambiance itself is DEFINITELY worth it!!!

I finally tried fig and olive for the first time after living here for all these years. Absolutely loved the truffle mushroom croquette appetizer and the paella! And of course the famous olive oil sampler! The ambience is luxurious, classy and chic. The service is exceptional. I am looking forward to coming back again soon!

A deliciously trendy Mediterranean restaurant where WeHo meets Beverly Hills. My selections from the prix-fixe menu: Fig

The 405 shutdown caused the change of plans that landed me here for valentines day dinner instead of another romantic restaurant in Santa Monica. I have been to a yelp event at Fig & Olive before but this was my first time coming back since.

Fig & Olive is definitely a beautiful restaurant with romantic ambiance. They have a balcony bar area upstairs too with some seating areas in addition to the big bar downstairs.

We were early for our reservation but they were able to accommodate us and we were seated right away. Our table was next to the door to the outdoor seating area so it was a little chilly. Our server was nice and the dishes came out quickly.

I had the crab cake appetizer. It was pretty good although I prefer bigger lumps of crab rather than a lot of shredded pieces. There was a lot of fillers added and there wasn't a whole lot of sauce to go with it.

For my main dish, I had the truffle risotto with mushrooms. The flavor was good but the dish was so rich that I couldn't finish it. I only ate about 2/3 and left the rest. My date had the chicken tajine. I actually really liked the dish. The chicken was tender and the cous cous was delicious. Both of the dishes came in smaller portions.

Their creme brulee cheesecake dessert was also quite different. It came in a small round shape on top of a thin sweet cracker and slices of peach. The cheesecake was small and plain with some roasted sugar on top. I was not impressed.

Parking is definitely not easy to find in the area. Valet parking is really expensive and there's a long wait for your car.

Great spot for date nights, love the atmosphere and their menu. The high ceilings on the first floor can create quite the echo so I usually prefer their second floor seating. Fig & Olive is by far one of my favorite restaurants in LA.

DineLA Experience:

It was dineLA week so we opted for the 3 course prix fixe (appetizer, entree, and dessert) for $45 per person at dinner.

The melone & buratta appetizer was so fresh and delicious! It came with a generous amount of burrata, yellow melon, and heirloom tomato. The salmon tartar was bland. The avocado and micro greens was a nice touch though it didn't elevate any flavor. We also shared a trio of crostinis ( $11- crab, proscuiotto, and octopus). My favorite was the crab. It was so tasty and the crab was really sweet. If we had known the portion of the appetizer we would've skipped on the crostinis.

For our entrees, we had the lamb chops ($6 supplement) & gnocchi and the filet with veggies. The lamb was cooked just how I like it, medium rare, however, it was so bland! Seems like it was missing salt. The gnocchi was over cooked and very dry.
The filet was medium though we specify it being medium rare. This was another bland dish.

It was hard to flag down our server since it was a busy night. By the time he got to us we were pretty much done with our meal and didn't want to make a fuss over the mediocre food.

Fig & Olive is a beautiful restaurant and really a great place for a date night. Hopefully food tastes better next time I'm there.

Parking- $8 Valet only.

Came here for brunch on Memorial day weekend. Food sounded tasty, looked tasty. Too bad it wasn't THAT tasty.

Me and my friend both got the 3 course Memorial Day set court. This included a choice of appetizer, entree, and dessert.

We got the lobster bisque and truffle mushroom croquette as our appetizers. The Crab cake eggs Benedict and south of France poached eggs with salmon as our entrees. And dessert we had the dessert "crostini" and chocolate pot de creme (I think) For drinks we had the blood orange mimosa and French 75.

Out of all of that, the only thing that stood out was the truffle mushroom croquette. Those little things were tasty little suckers. I could keep popping those in my mouth. Sadly I could careless for the rest. All that for $100 for two?

At least the decor and ambiance was nice. Waitress was great too.

Waitstaff on the other hand... could care less about service. The lobster bisque was presented as an empty bowl with an olive oil cracker on mascarpone. It was presented like that so the bisque could be poured elegantly into the bowl over the cracker and mascarpone. Now image instead of elegantly pouring it into the bowl, the waitstaff just dumped it into the bowl. Why even bother presenting it if you're just going to dump it!

Anyway, if you want to be classy like in Hangover 3 and pretend you're rich, come here for brunch. If you want good food, well... there's so many other better places in the area.

*Note, they "lost' our phone reservation and had to move us an hour later. Well at least they called to inform us of this?

DINE LA

I was expecting it to be fancy and it was. WeHo area, valet parking, nice ambiance... nice but busy ambiance.

My friend Rob made the reservation and we came about 10 min late and they made us pay for it... our reservation was at 7:30, we came in at 7:40pm didn't get seated til 8:15. Not cool. 10 min late. Sorry, but that's not worth to wait longer.

We ordered some drinks at the bar. The bar was packed. So many people. We got to order - the bartender was nice.

We finally get seated and the waitress is adorable. She was sweet, so points for Fig & Olive.

FOOD:

1st course:
My pick:
NORTHERN ITALIAN MUSHROOM & TRUFFLE SOUP
Cremini mushroom soup, garlic, onion, thyme - White Truffle Olive Oil
- this was SO watery. It didn't taste like truffle at all. It was so watery and the top layer had the mushroom portion. Fail.

Rob's Pick:
SEA SCALLOPS & TRUFFLE ARTICHOKE TAPENADE (add $5)
Seared sea scallops, truffle artichoke, arugula
pine nuts with aged balsamic - White Truffle Olive Oil
- Delicious. I wanted to switch ours, but no, he picked it. :P

Winner: Rob

2nd Course:
My pick:
PUMPKIN SAGE RAVIOLI
Pumpkin olive oil emulsion, free range chicken, ricotta and charmoula pumpkin seeds, parmesan cheese - Frantoio Olive Oil
- SO small and just... they needed more sauce around the pumpkin ravioli. It was too dry on the inside. It needed more of the sauce.

Rob's Pick:
FIG & OLIVE TAJINE Free range chicken marinated with moroccan spices, served with fig, olive, apricot, carrot, zucchini cippolini onion, toasted almond, couscous salad with cilantro and harissa - Hojiblanca Olive Oil
- A good portion - tou even get cous cous and it was really soft (the chicken). The meat just peeled off. I liked it. But still kinda small.

Winner: Rob

3rd Course:
My Pick:
DESSERT "CROSTINI" Amarena Cherry, Mascarpone, Pistachio on Shortbread with Micro-Basil
- I just didn't like it. I don't know why? I think it was the basil, I just didn't. Rob loved it, so alright.

Rob's Pick:
CHOCOLATE POT DE CRÈME Crunchy Praline Financiers & Vanilla Cream
- Damn him. I loved it.

Winner: Rob

So I failed in my choices for this DineLA meal and the food was really small portions and just didn't taste all that great. I felt like this should had been in the $34 price range versus the $44 range because I've had amazing food in that range and this didn't seem to qualify for it.

SERVICE:
I liked her. She's this cute blonde wearing Randy Jackson glasses. Adorable and sweet. She saved this rating from being a one. Give her a raise.

PARKING:
Valet. $8

AMBIANCE:
Pretty. There is a upstairs.

OVERALL:
I'm good for trying this place.
