ingredients served in a classic, cool environment. Exposed Edison bulbs, distressed metal, and plenty of candlelight set the stage for the extended open-air patio that makes up two-thirds of the restaurant. 50-foot trees dramatically lit from below sprout up through the main dining room. High-backed booths, dark wood, and rich burgundy fabric impart the feel of a pre-Prohibition Chicago banker bar. Priced for the regulars but far from ordinary, the menu is a modern twist on homey fare, with fresh, seasonal ingredients, and nothing over $20. For the thirsty, the bar is a well-prepared oasis, with a selection of 8 beers on tap and a heady selection of over 30 bottles and cans ranging from craft microbrews to PBR. The wine list offers unique bottlings from around the world (with a focus on California), with attention to value and smart pairings, not pomp. For harder stuff, the cocktail menu features creative concoctions like The Huddy (Hendricks Gin, cucumber, basil, splash of simple syrup, served up), On the weekend we have an incredible brunch featuring Bottomless Mimosas, and a self-serve Bloody Mary Bar.

Food here is good and affordable. Trendy little spot for those good looking Weho locals. The play fun music here. No DJ, but a fun running play list.

Five stars for the food (avocado toast with poached egg, and a braised short rib on fried grits with poached egg and a red wine reduction - ridiculously good), and for mimosas that tasted like they had sparkling wine in them.

However - the noise is borderline unbearable. Parking is terrible so expect to walk from far away or uber yo'self.

Would love to try the rest of their menu sometime, but right now I need an Advil.

The more I come to this place, the less I like it. It incorporates everything that people hate about bars/clubs, and they didn't leave anything out! Let's break it down.

- Horrible parking, OR you could valet for $8 in the Bank of America lot behind the bar, where you can only drive in from one direction. No signs for that, though. After you circle the block several times in traffic, you figure it out.
- Douchey, pretentious crowd
- No AC or ventilation. We were all dripping, and having conversations about how if we met anyone there, we would feel compelled to tell them yes, we actually do bathe ourselves.
- Slow or nonexistent service
- No dance floor, but LOUD music and no possibility for conversation unless you scream
- Restrooms that look like someone urinated all over the stalls, making sure to cover every last inch of the floor, toilet, toilet paper covering the floor, and toilet paper roll. And then drank more water, and urinated all over it again.
- Weak, expensive drinks
- $15 minimum for using a credit card. Seriously? Is that even legal?
- They taxed the gratuity they added, on the receipt. ..............
- Always a line, even when it isn't crowded inside
- Rude bartenders
- Rude bouncers. When I was looking for valet and waiting outside, the tall, white one left the door to pound on the hood of my car and yell at me to move. As I rolled down my window to ask where I could park, he was already gone. Every single one of my friends told a story about him being nasty to them in line, too. A friend of mine mentioned he was attending a birthday party when it was his turn in line, and said, "Actually, she's right there!" when she appeared outside to check on stuck-in-line friends. "Why don't you just stay out here with her then?" the bouncer snapped. Unnecessary.
- No consideration for parties. At every bar that I've organized a party at, including Next Door Lounge where the birthday girl had her party last year (love!), the staff went out of their way to make parties feel welcome and accommodated (table reservations, guest lists, skipping lines, walking party guests to the reserved area, etc). Nothing whatsoever at this place. They don't give a rat's ass if you're there for a birthday or any other occasion; you're stuck in line with everyone else, and you'll get attitude if you mention it. Actually, YOU should feel lucky that they are graciously allowing YOU to spend your special occasion at their exclusive, esteemed establishment.

The pluses:
- Photo booth
- Good fries

No one enjoyed this bar, and we complained about it the entire night, but we were there for the birthday girl. I don't give out 1-star reviews freely or thoughtlessly, but this bar seems to hire the least friendly, most apathetic staff imaginable. Based on my experiences and the other reviews, it's baffling how little The Hudson staff cares about whether anyone actually has a good time at their bar or is treated like a valued, paying patron. There are better bars in this city; skip this one.
