Nowhere else in Los Angeles can you stand, sit or party in the presence of so much musical history as at Doug Weston’s Troubadour. The famous nightclub is a rock-n’-roll legend in its own right, ... Read more
having hosted pivotal moments in the careers of such artists as Elton John, Neil Diamond, the Eagles and Bob Dylan. Have a drink (if you are over 21!) and laugh at top-notch comedy from the same stage where Steve Martin and Cheech and Chong got their starts, see fantastic emerging artists launch their own careers or rock out to such eclectic modern acts as Rise Against, Radiohead and Coldplay and write yourself into rock-n’-roll history.

I love this place... it's been around forever! They have had a LOT of great bands/artists here including big names such as Augustana, Katy Perry, American Authors, Joseph Arthur, and MANY more. They used to have more emo/hard rock bands, but have turned over to mostly indie rock bands in recent years. It's a great place to meet bands afterwards!

They also sell food there! I haven't tried it, but will one day.

Cons: Stuffy, no free parking, most of the balcony seats are reserved for VIPs.

Rockin venue. Plus I know the sound guy and even though the place is small those people can really party with mostly not currently super popular up and comers

I absolutely love the Troubador. I find that this is a venue I'm always going back to, even if I live in San Diego now. Its a more intimate place to catch a show. Low key...dark...and a full bar. You're almost reminded of House of Blues here, but its much more low maintenace and no one is going to step on your toes with their stilletos. I love the neighborhood feel of the Troubador. Even if its right off the busy street of Santa Monica Blvd.
The ONE thing that does kinda suck...parking. You know you gotta find some kind of lot parking, a structure, or get lucky with a street spot. Plan ahead. :)

One of the few places that doesn't go through ticketmaster. Great little shows always a little over crowded for 5 stars though.

The Troubadour was founded in 1957, and was a major center for folk music in the 1960s, and subsequently for singer-songwriters and rock. The Troubadour played an important role in the careers of Elton John, Linda Ronstadt, James Taylor, the Eagles, The Byrds, Joni Mitchell, Hoyt Axton, Carole King, Bonnie Raitt, J.D. Souther, Jackson Browne, Van Morrison, Buffalo Springfield and other prominent and successful performers, who played performances there establishing their future fame. On August 25, 1970, Neil Diamond introduced Elton John, who performed his first show in the United States at the Troubadour. In 1974, John Lennon and his friend Harry Nilsson were ejected from the club for drunkenly heckling the Smothers Brothers. Randy Newman started out at the club and comics Cheech & Chong and Steve Martin were discovered there

A landmark of the Los Angeles/Hollywood music scene. An intimate live music venue that hosts a range of artists from big timers, ex-big timers, and new comers. If your favorite band books a show here RUN to get tickets. You'll never get to see them as up close and personal as you can here at the Troubadour.

Have no idea what The Troubadour is like now, I went one night many, many years ago and saw someone named "Elton John"? He wasn't the top billed person and thought he was kinda weird! You have to go here when in Hollywood. You just might see the next Elton John!

Although it's fairly small and can get packed, the venue is a lot of fun and hosts some amazing shows. I have some fantastic memories from this place and is the music venue I miss the most since I've moved from SoCal.
