It's a cliche of a Jersey beach town. As soon as the summer's over, the town is completely destitute. During, however, the town is what one would expect of a seasonal beach town. There's a board walk, rides and restaurants and of course, the beach!

Wildwood is a perfect piece of Americana. Warm summer nights on the boardwalk. Amusement rides. Carnival games. A hot slice of pizza. An Italian Ice. Childhood memories. Today Wildwood plays up its heyday from the doowop era. Some interesting old hotels have survived from the 50s. Wildwood is also home to a little bit of teenage raunch during Spring Break, but still family friendly enough that kids have been enjoying this place for generations.

When most people are talking about Wildwood they are really talking about Wildwood Crest.

Wildwood Crest is the part of Wildwood where the boardwalk is with all the rides and games and activities. It's where much of Jersey goes to generally avoid the New Yorkers who take over the north end of the Shore in the summer. It is fun for families but also definitely a party spot for all of New Jersey's teenagers.

Some of the other sections of Wildwood are much more peaceful than party. Some relatively quiet beaches, quiet for New Jersey. And places for boats and fishing. If you take a look outside of the Crest there is a good variety of options for things to do in Wildwood.

I loved this place. The people treated me great. They were very friendly. The beach was nice and not too crowded. But what I enjoyed the most, was the boardwalk. If you like playing games and riing on the rides, then this is the place to go. I went on vacation here 5 years in a row. It is great for children and adults. The nite-clubs are great too. No problems with the folks in this town at all. Wildwood certainly gets a thumbs up from me.
