My first Burmese hospitality experience was in this market. At Bogyoke, I had 2 longees hand made for under $50, as well as, drank Burmese tea and tried local sweets, picked out by my tailor. Beware of your belongings as a lot of theft occurs here.

If you want to do a little souvenir shopping, then you should visit Bogyoke Market. It is close to Junction City mall, giving you plenty of shopping options. Make sure to bargain, and start off by offering half the price the vendors in the market quote you. Negotiating the price is common in Southeast Asia. The market is big, and offer many cool options for visitors.

The best market in Burma! Some come to look at gemstones and jade (which the country is known for) but I say come just to immerse yourself in local life -- or buy a longyi (the long skirt men and women both wear.) They're beautiful and wearing on is a great way to connect with people for the rest of your trip.

a little touristy but great for a day of shopping and buying souvenirs for friends and family back home. Don't forget to pick up a set of Longyi (tradiitonal burmese outfit) for keepsake too!

Located in central Yangon, this is THE market to check out if you intend to buy souvenirs, handicraft and jewellery. Hang out at the sides of the market to treat yourself to some Burmese tea after all that shopping.

Biggest shopping complex in downtown Yangon. Its Yangon's version of an indoor flea market type place, with rows and rows of shops next to each other inside a big warehouse looking main building.

A must visit place in Yangon - you can find almost anything here: gold and jewelry, jade, pearl, wood carvings, antique stores, tapestry, handicraft and paintings etc. Do bargain and bring either local currency or new USD smaller notes (older notes are not acceptable or have worse conversion rates). Once you are done shopping, Visit the alleys where they sell teas and betel nut.
