You can’t visit Zagreb without visiting the quirky broken heart museum. The museum houses trinkets and novelties like teddy bears, a vial of women’s tears, letters, and a prosthetic leg. This museum pays tribute to the broken-hearted and offers solace for anyone who wants to pay homage to a painful breakup. While fascinating and insightful, it might not be the place to take go if you are traveling with your significant other.

I think this place is actually so cool. It's definitely something new to see. Although it look kind of cheesy I actually love it!
It's a really cool place to visit and also kind of sad and funny at the same time.
But you should definitely visit this, if you ever find yourself in Croatia.
I recommend!!!

It's definitely innovative and different than any other museum.
I still think it's a little bit cheesy but I kinda like it.
So many people brought some things from their relationship that I actually think it's kind of cool, too.
It's like a part of our life...really good designed. Very interesting, too.

A unique museum! Each exhibit is a broken life story.
Museum you can see if you take a walk seven minutes.

This museum is worth traveling for. If there is just one place that should be visited in Zagreb, this is it. Not only the exhibit is organized in a clever, engaging way, but the actual message is incredibly interesting. It takes at least 2 hours to go through everything - and yet, those two hours go by incredibly fast. An absolute must.

The end of a relationship (romantic or otherwise) is always life changing, but people shy away from talking about these things... This museum is full of shared stories behind symbols of relationships that are now over. I first saw an exhibition by them on their world tour and it was nice to see their permanent space! They have a cafe as well with wifi. The stories are sometimes funny, sometimes sad, really nice space and they change the objects every now and then. Admission price is very reasonable. They've become very popular!

What started as a personal project by a former couple is now a collection of objects from failed relationships worldwide. It may seem cheesy on the surface, but this museum is actually a funny, morose and poignant collection of items and accompanying stories that will make you reflect on your own relationships of yore. It’s a wonderful case study in just how similar people and relationships all of the world really are. Bring tissues.

A postcard from a woman in her 70’s who had received it from a boy who wanted to marry her. When his family came to meet her family, her family rejected the boy saying her was not good enough for their daughter. That night he drove his car off a cliff. Years later she gave the postcard to the museum as a way of letting go. I was a wreck when I left the museum. I told the girl working behind the counter, “This place made me emotional. I am going back to my hostel to think about my life…” She said, “It does that to everyone…”

This may be one of my favorite museums in the world. It's certainly very unique, and I love the concept of channeling heartbreak into art. Exhibits are very well done, and the storytelling is exceptional.
