The "Oasis in the Desert", Bedourie is located on a sand dune surrounded by Eyre Creek. Lots of interesting events are held here, including Camp Oven Cook Off in July and the Bedurie Races in September.

Bedourie is bit more manicured than "neighbor" Birdsville, but is no less authentic. Bedourie calls itself an Oasis in the Desert and is is true, there is nothing else anywhere near. The town has a nice visitor's center and good community fascilities for locals. There is also at least one hotel and a caravan park, as well as a restaurant/cafe/bar. Watch out for the flies depending on the time of year!
