Not the largest city around, Ostend is a nice and relaxing coastal city with few tourists.

Ostend is a vital port town just north of Bruges. Near the port you'll find a pedestrian downtown with excellent seafood restaurants.

Oostende is the queen of the bath places in Belgium. Big parties in the summer. Some good restaurants. A wonderfull place to start from to go for trips to other cities or countries. 1 hour from france, 1 hour from the Netherlands. Some places you really want to visit in Ostend. for a drink you can go to "t'botteltje" they have the most amazing collection of beers. For a little dinner go to "den artiest" for a good grill. For a good pasta you have "het waterhuis" and for a midday snack or some tapas you can go to "le beau site" on the promenade. I hope you can enjoy Ostend a little ;-)
