Beautiful beach on the west coast of Costa Rica! Clean and not too crowded on the north side, before the downtown area. People selling coconuts for 1000 colones are super refreshing on a hot hot day. Don't forget sunscreen!!!

This laid back beach town was my favorite spot in all Costa Rica. Relaxed and friendly vibe, good, open-air restaurants, nice beaches with good surf, relaxed, open air restaurants and a few fun bars. I could have stayed here for a month.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in Tamarindo. Laid back beach town with a safe, calm, and cool vibe. Shopping, eating, beach bumming at it's finest. There are many English-speaking business owners and quite a few hotels and restaurants to choose from, mostly within walking distance. Enjoy surfing, walks on the beach, cold beers, and most of all, the friendly Ticos.

Tamarindo is a really fun place to be with a great beach, good surf spots, plenty of shopping, and fun bars. On the bus, it will end up being about 3-4 hours from the Nica border but the bus system in Costa Rica is really reliable and easy to navigate. I stayed in some cabinas there and it was like $10 per night for a great location and a nice room. I recommend Tamarindo!
