I lived in France for a year, traveling all around the country, but this small relatively unknown town surpassed my expectations! Annecy is in sorts a "little Venice" in France, filled with canals and in the middle of a huge lake. It's located on the border of Geneva, Switzerland and fairly easy to get to by bus. I paid around 15 euros for a one way ticket to Geneva from Annecy and it was only an hour away. The lake is beautiful and the people were so friendly. This town is a must see if you are visiting Geneva, and want to fit a piece of France into your itinerary.
