The Pope City of Avignon. Famous for being home to the Pope for a short period of time.

A city that feels like it stuck in medieval times. Avignon lends itself to be best explored by foot for days.

Beautiful town in Provence - the center is touristic but also very historic and beautiful. On the off season it's very quiet at night and best if you're a woman to be a bit careful. They host big theatre festival each year.

Capital of Provence and a magnificent Unesco World Heritage Site, Avignon offers a wonderful day trip experience. Visit the Palais des Papes and of course the famous Pont d'Avignon. Take a break at the little cafe in Les Jardins des Doms and let the kids feed the ducks, a welcome break in the heat of the day with magnificent views. Avignon is a great shopping experience, especially in the little pedestrian free streets and don't forget to try the wonderful lavender or violet flavoured icecream
