A bohemian Island open to tourism development! A unique mix of Caribbean culture and music.
We were welcomed to St. Kitts in the bustling town of Basseterre, which is peppered with small jewelry shops. While tempted to purchase some pearls, we opted to head to the beach for some sunshine and local flavors. We jumped in a taxi to Cronklesea beach where we spent the afternoon at Reggae Beach Bar soaking up the sun and the island theme of Rush Slowly, Island Time (live de life). While we were looking for a very local experience, there are several different options on St. Kitts to cater to all tastes. The Carabola is a higher end beach club with cabanas and piano music on South Friar’s Bay. The Marriott is not far from Basseterre and is a fantastic option if you are lucky enough to stay on the island overnight. Anywhere you go, you are sure to be impressed by the lush tropical forest on this gorgeous backdrop.
