Beautiful, within an hour or 2 u can be in a nature reserve or mountain. Of course it's a coastal city with beautiful beaches hugged by the warm Indian ocean.

With its fine beaches, great dining (yay bunny chow!), and colorful mixture of Zulu and Indian cultures, Durban is a place that too may people breeze past on their way up to Jo'burg. Walk the length of the beaches and enjoy the sun, shop in Victoria Market for crafts and spices, and eat your heart out -- Durban is more than worth a night or two of your time.
