Hyannis, Massachusetts , is one Cape Cod’s prime tourist hubs, and is sometimes known as the “Capital of the Cape.” It’s one of the jumping off points for Martha’s Vineyard via the Steamship Authority , and the huge harbor makes Hyannis the largest recreational boating spot in Cape Cod . …
One of the bigger towns on the Cape, with a lot to do here. Don't miss walking through the cute town center!

Hyannis Port is a microscopic village within Cape Cod made famous by the Kennedy Compound (this was President Kennedy's summer White House). Although small, there are some interesting tourist spots worth visiting.

Hyannais is a commercialized port town... I repeat small "town" yet charming. It happens to be one of the few "towns" which have a mall or even a movie theatre or a Chase bank.
Hyannis is a place you can visit in a few hours or a pit stop. It is well known for the Main road which contains cute mom and pops shops like jewelry stores, antique shopping, cooking stores and restaurants. Not to mention the public library or JFK museum.
For the antique lover, you can find great finds here. Not to far away is the port. With the right weather, it can be a lovely visit.
I would recommend staying here just a few hours if you like antique shopping or would like to grab a bite to eat.
As you are leaving Hyannis I think it would be appropriate to listen to Vampire Weekend - "Walcott" with the line "Hyannisport is a ghetto, out of Cape Cod tonight." And no no Hyannis isn't ghetto.
