I really enjoy the simplicity and peacefulness that Lanai City offers. It is a wonderful down to earth place to enjoy. Last trip we picked up items for a picnic from local markets.

A great little community worth taking time to walk around and see what you find. There are two restaurants that I enjoy: Canoes and Blue Ginger situated next to each other; both with great local food in good sized portions. In the evenings, Lanai City Grille in the Lanai Hotel offers up some fantastic cuisine, often with live music performances. On Saturday mornings there is a small farmer's market in the Dole Park. Richards Market recently expanded so it's the place to get groceries and other essentials. Take a walk toward the school and see the newly constructed pool, football field, and basketball court.

I am probably not in the majority when I say that I really love Lanai City. It is a complete contradiction of both of the main hotels. What it does offer is charm and personality. Good enough for me.
