Cheap Flights from Dallas Love Field (DAL) to New York LaGuardia (LGA)

Regular daily service from Dallas Love Field to New York LaGuardia Airport is available from Virgin American and Southwest. The flight takes about three and a half hours, and flight times are available from the early morning to the early evening. You can also fly with Delta, but all of their departures from Love Field stop in Atlanta en route for a layover that generally lasts a few hours.

Facilities at LaGuardia Airport

LaGuardia is located on the East River just east of Manhattan. There is no direct rail service to or from the station, but there are several bus options. The one that passengers most frequently use is the LaGuardia Link, which runs around the clock every day of the year. It travels to and from the station at 74th Street and Roosevelt, from which you can connect to a number of different lines.

Of course, renting a car is also an option. Many of the major chains are located at the airport. Free shuttles travel between Terminal A and the rental offices, most of which are outside the airport just to its south. If you are not landing at Terminal A, you can take the free Red and Blue shuttles which circulate around the airport to get there.

LaGuardia has something of a reputation as the red-headed stepchild of New York's airports, but it does have at least basic services. You'll find ATMs in the baggage claim area, charging stations throughout the airport, a Welcome Center in baggage claim to assist first-time visitors to the city, and a pet relief area outside the Marine Terminal. The airport also has free WiFi throughout, which offers 30 minutes of use per day to visitors.

Nearly all of the food options in LaGuardia are in Terminal B. Use the free Red and Blue shuttles to get there from other terminals. You'll find burgers, pizza, bagels, sandwiches and Asian cuisine among other options. Coffee is available from Au Bon Pain, Dunkin' Donuts and Einstein Brothers. There are some additional dining options just outside the airport, mostly located along Astoria Boulevard.

LaGuardia is in the midst of a multi-year, $4 billion restoration project. Work began in 2016 and is expected to last four to five years. Travelers should note that these plans include a complete rebuild of the terminals, so during this time frame it's important to check ahead to see if services you are looking for may be temporarily closed.

Things to Do Near LaGuardia

LaGuardia is located in the Queens neighborhood not far from Citi Field (where the Mets play), the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, the New York Hall of Science, the Queens Museum, the Queens Botanical Garden and Flushing Meadows Corona Park. Of course, a quick trip across the East River puts you in Manhattan, where there are boundless things to experience. You're also close to Harlem, which has many sites of historic and cultural interest as well as New York's hottest food and music scenes.
