Every morning in Houston should start off with a trip to Torchy’s Tacos, one of the best Mexican restaurants in all of Texas! With multiple locations in the city, you aren’t too far away from one of Torchy’s delicious tacos no matter where you are. Highly recommended is a breakfast burrito, and even though they aren’t on the menu you can get one! Just ask for 2 tacos in a 12 inch tortilla! We personally love chorizo and egg, light cheese.

From breakfast head to the famed Houston museum district, located just outside of the Texas Medical Center. With many different options to see some of the best culture in the country, the museum district will keep you happy for hours. 19 museums are located throughout the district, and each holds amazing exhibits.

Head over to the Kirby District after touring the museums for a bite at one of the best sushi spots you will ever eat at: Azuma Sushi & Robata Bar. Every thing that we have tried on the menu has been incredible, from the fresh sashimi to the crab fried rice (which isn’t on the menu but you can request). Come hungry, and feast!

An afternoon stroll in beautiful Hermann Park is the perfect way to wind down the last of the daylight hours. Take a look at the calendar of events, because there are always amazing free concerts, plays, and more in the large park in the heart of the city. Taking photos by the fountains is also a great way to capture a memory of the beautiful city!

As night falls, it’s time to play! Houston is known for its great lounges, clubs, and bars, and Westheimer Road may be home to the city’s best. Whether you head to Anvil, the Hay Merchant, Doc’s, or any of the other great bars in the region, you’ll be sure to have a great time!

Have a late night craving for a bite to eat? Raising Cane’s and Taco Cabana are two Houston locations that are open late (with Taco Cabana open 24 hours a day). Grab a bite, then get some rest, because you have one more day of fun in Houston!

Up early and ready for your last day in the city? Kick things off with a delicious brunch at Baba Yega Cafe, a favorite for locals that offers a wide variety of foods. Highly recommended is the stuffed mushrooms, which are packed with delicious turkey sausage!

From brunch, head to either the Houston Zoo or Space Center Houston, two amazing local attractions that will keep you busy for hours! Make sure to take lots of photos of the incredible animals or the amazing space shuttles!

It’s off to dinner after the breweries, and Houston sure knows how to do food! There’s not a better way to eat when in Texas than barbeque, and Goode Company Barbeque is one of the best in the state! Be sure to try the Czech sausage!

For an after-dinner treat, stop at Sprinkles cupcakes after dinner. With a variety of delicious options, Sprinkles has something for everyone. A possibly surprising recommendation is the ice cream cookie sandwich!
