Lebanon Travel Tips

The “Pearl of the Middle East,” Lebanon is endowed with a Mediterranean climate featuring arid, hot summers with average highs in the low-90s along its 140-mile coastline. The weather is ideal for relaxing on the beach and boating or snorkeling and diving in the temperate, blue waters. Generally, the summer highs in the mountains are up to 20 degrees cooler. While the coastal region experiences cool, rainy winters, the mountains can receive considerable snowfall that attracts snowboarders and cross-country skiers. Featuring seasonal and local ingredients, traditional Lebanese dishes include spicy zucchini, deep-fried chickpea patties and marinated, grilled fish. The average cost for a three-course meal for two people at a mid-range restaurant is $50.
