General Abelardo L. Rodriguez International Airport located in Baja California, Mexico is just south of the U.S. border. It is the fifth busiest airport in Mexico and can handle up to 360 flights per day. The airport can be accessed from both the Mexico and U.S. side via the Cross Border Express Bridge. TIJ is the primary hub for Avolar and also provides service via Aeromexico, Aeromexico Connect, ALMA de Mexico, and Volaris.

The airport was named after the “father of Mexican Independence,” Miguel Hidalgo. It is the third busiest airport in Mexico even with only one terminal. The airport includes basic dining and shopping amenities as well as a currency exchange and in-airport rental car options.

Guadalajara is the second largest city in Mexico and a popular destination for tourists. Since Guadalajara is best known for its tequila and mariachi music, it comes as no surprise that it is a popular destination for those who like a nightlife atmosphere.
