Besides its warm sunshine and ancient ruins, Egypt also has access to Europe, the Middle East and Asia. Cairo International Airport (CAI) is 5 miles away from the pyramids and the Sphinx, Khan-el-Khalili and Cairo Zoo. It simply isn't possible to see all of Egypt's splendor in one trip.

Flights to Egypt

International travelers who fly to Egypt will likely arrive at Cairo International Airport (CAI). It has several valuable services available to travelers, including hotels, restaurants and duty-free shops. On the airport grounds is the Hotel Novotel Cairo Airport and Le Meridien Cairo Airport. There is an interesting fact about this airport that Muslim travelers will appreciate. During the Hajj season, the airport opens up an additional terminal just for travelers making Hajj.

The airport offers shuttle bus service to several cities near Cairo, including Heliopolis, Nasr City and the pyramids. Please note that this service requires a reservation. The airport offers several other forms of transportation, including limousines, microbuses, cars and London taxis. These go to different locations and have different fees than the shuttle buses, so be sure to check the current prices.

If you prefer to be closer to attractions, check out the Radisson Blu Hotel in Heliopolis, InterContinental Semiramis in downtown Cairo and the Hilton Luxor Resort.
