History buffs and armchair archeologists might be interested in visiting a dig site located on an adjacent island. Fossils and burial sites have been discovered dating back to the Neolithic age. There are several caves in the area where artifacts as old as 22,000 years have been found.

El Nido-Taytay Managed Resource Area is the largest protected marine sanctuary in the Philippines. The marine protection extends into the vast mangroves that take up several square miles of coastline. However, there is fishing allowed. Many charter companies are available to take you out for deep sea excursions.
