Terminals A and B at San Jose International Airport are connected, and you'll be able to find your way around its pleasantly lit airy halls without much of an issue. It's physically possible to take the Route 10 Valley Transit Authority Busline to the Caltrain station and other rail and bussing hubs but resist the temptation. San Jose is a significantly more expensive area than Phoenix. Though Phoenix isn't cheap because of its up and coming reputation, San Jose's proximity to Silicon Valley giants like San Francisco and other major cities like Los Angeles drive prices through the roof pretty much everywhere.

On the bright side, the high prices of San Jose make for a beautiful city center replete with palm trees and even a little bit of history from the period of Spanish colonization. Culture-wise, San Jose is entirely different from Phoenix--the Southwestern drawl and paced friendliness are totally missing from the archetypical hyper nerd culture of San Jose.
