Which Airport Do I Depart From?

Flying from Stockholm to Oslo is quick, easy, and cheap when you book your ticket here with us at Skyscanner. Flying along this route is an exercise in Scandinavian courtesy and efficiency, but you should pack a jacket.

There are a lot of potential carriers to fly with and airports to depart from or arrive at along this route. Aeroflot, British Airways, Finnair, Icelandair, KLM, Ryanair Luxair, SAS, Singapore Airlines, and Lufthansa, among several others.

Each of the four airports around Stockholm is an equally valid option for departure along this route. If you depart via the Stockholm Arlanda Airport, you’ll be leaving via Terminal 5, and should expect to have a few restaurants and shops to pick from.

If on the other hand, you depart from Stockholm’s Bromma Airport, you’ll have a much shorter ride to the airport from downtown Stockholm, but be hard strapped to find many shops. If you depart from Bromma Airport, you’ll be leaving from the only terminal.

Much like Bromma Airport, the Skavsta Airport has one terminal and few shopping and dining options. If you want to use the Wi Fi while at Skavsta, you’ll have to pay for it.

Finally, Stockholm’s Vasteras Airport is the smallest yet and offers very few amenities.

Where Do I Arrive?

You’ll probably land at Gardermoen, Oslo’s main airport. There’s only one terminal, and you’ll find that it neatly channels everyone stepping off the plane out of the airport quickly and cleanly. Gardermoen’s transit options aren’t concentrated in one part of the airport, but you can choose from three separate train lines, one which goes north, one that goes directly to the center of Oslo, and one which goes south and west.

All trains head to Oslo, so don’t worry too much about hopping on the right one so long as you take it in the right direction. If you’d rather take a bus, you can pick between the Oslo Airport Express or the regional transit authority bus. The buses are less expensive than the trains by a small amount and run on a separate schedule, so you’ll always have a transit option that is arriving relatively soon.

If you land at Oslo’s Sandefjord Airport, you’ll have quite a ways to go before reaching Oslo. From Sandefjord, you can take a commuter train, or take a bus. The train runs frequently, but it’ll take several hours to get to Oslo’s downtown. The same goes for the bus.

If you’d rather take a taxi or rent a car from either airport, you’ll have the option to do so. Taxis tend to be a bit overpriced in Norway, as do car rentals. Public transit is probably the most convenient and budget friendly transit option.

Navigating Oslo
