Every January, Durango throws a five-day festival called Snowdown. The festival has a different theme each year, and attendees wear costumes to match the theme. There's live music, a costume contest, a parade, dances and other fun competitions such as ski softball, beer pong and eating contests, among others. The parade draws thousands of people each year.
