What to Do in Grenada
Spice estates, lakes, waterfalls, and lovingly-tended lavish gardens are all part of Grenada’s distinctive and beautiful landscape. Sandy beaches cry out for you to lounge and enjoy yourself, while the mountains are full of trails which beckon to your sense of adventure.
Visit one of the island’s many rum distilleries, but go easy on the samples! Wander through the markets, where precious spices can be bought for pocket change. If the intoxicating scents of nutmeg and vanilla aren’t enough for you, immerse yourself in a world of chocolate at the Belmont Estate, which is a beautiful one-hour drive from the capital. This incredibly preserved 17th century plantation is still a working estate, which produces organic cocoa and fine dark chocolate. There’s an incredible restaurant on the grounds. It’s open weekdays and reservations are recommended.
