Located 8 miles from the city center, Rodríguez Ballón International Airport (AQP) is the main airport serving Arequipa. As one of only two major airports serving southern Peru, AQP has the second largest terminal in terms of passenger flow. The Arequipa airport has a single two-story terminal and offers both domestic and international flights. Inside, you'll find twelve counters. Five airlines offer flights from Arequipa to Lima, including Avianca Airways, Hahn Air Systems, LATAM Airlines Group, LC Peru, and Peruvian Airlines. All of the airlines except Hahn offer nonstop flights to Lima.
Jorge Chávez International Airport (LIM) is Peru's main international and domestic airport. Located 7 miles from the Peruvian capital, LIM serves as a hub for many airlines. Jorge Chavez Airport has one terminal, two levels, and two runways. When you arrive in Lima, you'll find a mass of taxi drivers waiting to take you to the city. LIM recommends only using taxi companies registered at the airport. You could also take a bus to save money. You can rent a car, but be aware that the airport advises against it unless you are familiar with the traffic in Lima.
