Finding cheap flights from Dallas to Toronto: Frequently asked questions
Picking A Flight
Flying from the dusty heat of Dallas to the cosmopolitan diversity of Toronto can be a bit challenging. When you fly on this route, you won’t have too many departure times to choose from, and you might have to pay more than you wanted to, depending on the season. With our help here at Skyscanner, you’ll be able to get the best deal for your flight and minimize the cost of the trip.
On this route, you can pick from the following carriers:
- WestJet
- Virgin Atlantic
- United Airlines
- Delta
- Alaska Airlines
- Aeromexico
- Aer Lingus
- American Airlines
Most flights have a layover at LaGuardia Airport in New York City, which is an expansive airport where you won’t have any trouble spending some time. Try to book your flight far ahead of when you need to make the trip because prices surge in the summertime.
Preparing For Departure
Because this is an international flight, you’ll need to make sure that you have your passport with you when you fly. Double check that your passport isn’t expired before leaving home, and plan to arrive two or three hours early to the airport so that you’ll have a chance at fixing any problems that crop up.
You should probably bring a sweater if you’re traveling in summer or spring and a heavy winter coat if you’re traveling in the fall or winter. The difference between the dry heat of Dallas and the windy coolness of Toronto could throw you in for a loop otherwise.
On this route, you’ll depart from the Dallas-Fort Worth Airport, via Terminal D. Dallas-Fort Worth is one of the busiest airports in the world, and you’ll find that it has hundreds of shops, restaurants, and other attractions to keep you entertained while you wait for liftoff. The intense bustle can make it hard to find a spot sometimes, but you’ll probably be able to eat from any restaurant your heart could desire.
Touchdown In Toronto
Be sure to fill out the customs declarations forms that your flight attendants will hand out before landing. Once you arrive at Toronto’s Pearson International Airport, you’ll find yourself in Terminal 1. Make your way through customs; in general, the Canadian customs process is fast and painless.
Once you’re through customs, make your way to either the Union Pearson Express train, the LINK train, the taxi stands, or the bus depot. The Pearson Express trains connect to downtown Toronto’s transit system and are the cheapest and fastest way to get downtown safely. The LINK train takes you from the terminals to the car rental lots.
The bus depot is useful if you’re interested in reaching areas of Canada other than Toronto. You can either take a ticketed bus to another city, or the Toronto metro bus which can take you downtown a bit more slowly than the train would.
Toronto is an expensive city, to expect to pay significantly more for everything than you would in Dallas.
