Flying Out of Las Vegas McCarran (LAS)
Las Vegas McCarran International Airport is only a few miles from the Strip. Most people drive or get dropped off at the airport. If you drive, you have a wide range of parking options and prices, from valet parking and covered garages to economy lots. If you park in the economy lot, you can use a free courtesy shuttle to get to your terminal.
Houston, Texas, has two airports: George Bush Intercontinental Airport and William P. Hobby Airport. Direct flights are available to the larger Bush Intercontinental Airport from Frontier, Spirit, and United Airlines. Southwest offers non-stop flights to William P. Hobby. There are two separate buildings for terminals at McCarran. If you're flying Southwest or Spirit, you'll fly out of McCarran terminal 1. Frontier and United fly out of terminal 3. (Strangely, there isn't a terminal 2.)
In true Vegas style, slot machines are located throughout the airport. You can try your luck while you're waiting for your flight. Or, if shopping's more your thing, both terminals have a variety of designer shops. Terminal 1 features an aviation museum near the public shopping area.
Arriving in Houston, Texas
If you've flown into George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH), you'll be about 20 miles from downtown Houston. Bush Airport has five terminals, marked A,B,C, D, and E. Frontier and Spirit Airlines flights arrive at terminal A. Flights from United arrive at terminal B or C.
From George Bush Intercontinental, you can take a bus, taxi, or rental car into Houston. Use Skyscanner's rental car tool to find a great deal. Many area hotels also offer courtesy shuttles.
If you've flown into William P. Hobby Airport (HOU), you'll be about 11 miles south of Houston's downtown. Hobby Airport has just one terminal with 25 gates. Arrivals come in to the airport on level one, which is also where the baggage claim is located.
Transportation options from Houston Hobby include ten rental car companies, public bus service through the Houston Metropolitan Transit Authority, hotel shuttles, limos, and taxis.
