Making your way to Savannah/Hilton Head Airport

SAV is small and sweet. One easy-to-breeze-through terminal with two levels and just 15 gates, but plenty of nice touches for travelers, including free WiFi. The airport is a joint civilian and military facility, but the Savannah Air National Guard Base has its own separate buildings on the airport site.

If you’re driving, you can take advantage of airport parking for as little as $5 a day. In terms of public transportation, there are several CAT bus options from various points around the city. Recently a new airport express service, the X100, operates 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays. Fare is $1.50 and the bus runs every 30 minutes between the Joe Murray Rivers Jr. Intermodal Transit Center downtown and Savannah/Hilton Head. If you’re coming from further afield, it’s also possible to arrange public transportation with Coastal Regional Coaches, a regional rural public transit program which offers advance reservation transit service.

Arriving in Atlanta
