Interjet Airlines Cheap Flights

Interjet can be your answer for air travel to Mexico. Why? Known as the “JetBlue of Mexico,” Interjet has developed a reputation as Mexico’s low-cost airline option and boasts of the largest flight network within the country compared to its competition. If you want to get virtually anywhere in Mexico by air and not pay a premium, Interjet is one of the best options out there for you.

Based out of Mexico City, Interjet Airlines is one of the youngest airlines in business, but has seen rapid and respected growth over the last 11 years, using a low-cost and regional -route model that made JetBlue and Southwest Airlines major players in the U.S. market.

Interjet not only serves some of the top tourist and resort cities in Mexico, but it also serves destinations of Latin America such as Cuba, Colombia, Guatemala and Costa Rica. In the United Sates, Interjet flies into Los Angeles (LAX), San Francisco (SFO), San Antonio, Miami and JFK Airport in New York.

Interjet Airlines has a fleet of Airbus A320 planes, and is the first airline in the Western Hemisphere to include Sukhoi Superjets in its fleet, with 22 of its 67 planes from that company and used primarily for U.S. destinations from the hub in Mexico City.

Why Fly With Interjet

Interjet Baggage Allowance

If you are used to American carrier baggage policies, even with low-cost airlines, you will be enthralled with Interjet's baggage policy. According to its website, Interjet USA allows passengers to check up to three bags up to a total combined weight of about 34 pounds (75 kg) without paying a dime in baggage fees. Also unlike other airlines, you can check an oddly shaped item like a surfboard at no initial charge, as long as it is one of the three allowed bags. After the third bag or above 75 kg (34 pounds), bags are checked at $5 per kilogram (about 2.2 pounds)

interjet Seating – Leg Room, Choosing Seats

Interjet USA brags on its website about having some of the best legroom in the industry, despite its low price. It says that up to 30 seats have been removed from its planes, allowing for up to 34 inches of legroom for each seat, and seats may recline back without hindrance to passengers behind. This would make its Airbus planes among the most spacious in the industry, making your flights to Mexico as comfortable as possible. A nice feature for Interjet Airlines flight passengers who book their flights online is that they can choose any seat for no additional charge. This is unlike some major U.S. carriers, which ask for additional money for certain seats on their Interjet flights, including exit rows. On Interjet flights, you can sit anywhere you want on the plane for your fare and pay no premium price.

Interjet Frequent Flyer and Loyalty Program

If you are someone who travels to Mexico a lot for business or pleasure (or could), you might like Interjet Airlines’ frequent-flyer and rewards program. As an airline allied with American Airlines, Iberia and LATAM, Interjet provides you opportunities to easily gather rewards in cash rather than bonus miles, and the cash can be used to book new Interjet Airlines tickets. Club Interjet is also a program where members can save on Interjet Airlines family or group tickets, get discounts while shopping and get e-mail notices of fare discounts, new route openings and other news as they happen.
