Baltimore / Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport is located in Linthicum and is the busiest of the three major airports in the Washington, D.C area. Getting to and From Washington, DC Airports

Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport


Reagan National Airport is the closest airport to DC. It is easily accessible via public transport and takes about 20 minutes on the Blue and Yellow Metro stops.

Ride Shares

Reagan National Airport offers two ride-share service options. SuperShuttle and Supreme Airport Shuttle both offer door-to-door services to and from the airport. Both providers can be found just outside the baggage claim area of Terminal A, B or C.

Taxi Services

If you need to catch a taxi, the official stand can be found just outside of baggage claim. Your taxi ride from the airport to downtown DC should cost about $15 to $20.

Passengers going to or from Reagan National Airport can also catch an Uber. Fares from Washington Convention Center, Capitol Hill and Georgetown cost between $14 to $18.

Travel time to and from the airport from downtown DC are between 15 and 20 minutes.

Washington Dulles International Airport


Washington Flyer has a Silver Line Express Bus that drops off passengers at the Wiehle-Reston East Metro rail about 15 minutes away from Dulles Airport  The bus fare is around $5, and tickets can be purchased at the Arrivals Door 4.

Other bus options are the Metrobus Route 5A, and Fairfax Connector Bus Route 981 and Route 983.

Ride Shares

Dulles Airport offers two rideshare providers, Super Shuttle and Supreme Airport Shuttle. Both providers have door-to-door services between the airport and the Washington D.C. Metro Area, Virginia and Maryland.

Taxi Services

Washington Flyer taxi cabs exclusively service the airport and taxi stands can be found outside the main terminal at Door 2 and Door 6. Expect to pay anywhere between $60 to $70 for a 30-minute drive into DC.

Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport


The airport is accessible via the Amtrak train route. A seat on the train will cost you $15 to $30. Light Rail MARC trains also run a service to BWI where the latter has a free shuttle serving the airport terminal.


There are four buses with stops at the BWI Airport:

    * The ICC Bus Route 201 has stops at Concourses A (Southwest Airlines) and E (International terminal), dropping off passengers at the upper level and picking up passengers on the lower level.

    * The Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) offers a bus service on #17 and a peak weekday service on #99.

    * The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority has an Express Metro bus service that runs every 40 minutes 25 times each weekday and 21 times on the weekend.

    * The RTA connects passengers from BWI Airport to Central Maryland on the Route 501 bus.

Shuttles and Taxi Services

BWI Airport offers shuttle services from three companies, Courtesy Shuttles, Supreme Airport Shuttle and BayRunner Shuttle. The taxi stands can be found just outside the baggage claim area on the lower level.
