Making your way to Logan Airport

For a big city airport, Logan Airport has little of the crowding and chaos that you usually find at transport hubs of this size. The four terminals are well-laid out, clean, and roomy, connected by a series of moving walkways and shuttle buses. You’ll find free WiFi on offer in all the terminals, as well as a good selection of power sockets.

Finding the airport is easy, with plenty of signs pointing the way, but traffic in Boston can be a killer, so keep an eye on your time. Once you get to the airport, there’s plenty of parking, though it tends towards the expensive side of the scale. Luckily, the public transportation options are cheap and easy to use.

The MBTA runs a Silver Line Service, which is a frequent express bus directly to the airport. It connects with the Red Line at South Station, with just a few stops on the way to Logan. It will take you directly to your terminal, and there is plenty of dedicated luggage space. It’s also possible to take the Blue Line to the airport, just be aware that you’ll need extra time to take the Massport free shuttle from the airport stop to your terminal.

Arriving in Baltimore

The wonderful Baltimore Aquarium is a must-see, but it’s so outrageously popular that it really pays to book tickets in advance online.

For history buffs, there’s also a floating museum comprised of four decommissioned ships, and the deeply moving Civil War Museum. Midtown is stuffed with lovely old historic buildings and burgeoning cultural institutions, while the Fells Point District is the place to go for a delicious Italian dinner and a night on the town.
