Season 3 is finally out and fans are already dying to know how they can get more of Stranger Things. Don’t fret. We discovered all of the Stranger Things filming locations and how you can visit them.

Skyscanner can help you with the details you need to book a flight, find a hotel, and visit Stranger Things IRL.

Here are 7 of Stranger Things most iconic fictional locations and where they actually exist:

  1. Starcourt Mall
  2. Hawkins Middle School and Hawkins High School
  3. The Quarry
  4. The Wheeler’s House
  5. Hawkins Police Station
  6. Downtown Hawkins
  7. Hawkins National Laboratory

& Scoops Ahoy! ***Bonus until July 14th!***

The über 80s ice cream shop, Scoops Ahoy, does not actually exist. But, for a limited time, you can visit a recreation of the iconic Stranger Things location.

A Baskin-Robbins in Burbank, California, located at 1201 S. Victory Blvd, is bringing the parlor to life for fans to enjoy. They turned the shop into a nearly identical replica, with staff in full costume/character. They’ll be serving “Upside Down Sundaes” and more until July 14th!

1. Starcourt Mall

Playing one of the most iconic roles in Season 3 of Stranger Things, The Starcourt Mall was an important place for the show’s creators to get right. Turns out, they found their ideal spot in the Gwinnett Place Mall. Gwinnett Place is located at 2100 Pleasant Hill Rd. in Duluth, an Atlanta Suburb.

Gwinnett Place is one of the many malls in the Atlanta suburbs that has seen a steady decline from its 80s days as a beloved hangout. The eerie – but decidedly 80s – feeling to the place made it the perfect stand-in for the Starcourt Mall.

2. Hawkins Middle / High School

Hawkins Middle School and Hawkins High School are important landmarks in Stranger Things as much of the show is driven from each of those locations. But neither school actually exists. Instead, the show’s producers flipped what was formerly known as Patrick Henry High School located in Stockbridge, Georgia, and made it work for them.

3. The Quarry

The former Bellwood Quarry in Atlanta was mined for more than a century and it is where all of The Quarry scenes in Stranger Things were filmed. Right now, mining no longer takes place at the quarry, and there are proposals on the table that would turn the land into what might come to be known as Westside Reservoir Park.

4. The Wheeler’s House

Make no mistake, this home located at 2530 Piney Wood Lane in East Point, Georgia plays host to some of the most important scenes in Stranger Things. The home is not for sale at the moment, but if it were, Zillow has its estimated value set at $196,415 (not bad).

Keep your eye out in the future, and who knows, maybe you can own a remarkable piece of the Stranger Things franchise. In the meantime, fly to Atlanta for less and go take a look at the Wheeler’s home for yourself.

5. Hawkins Police Station

An old commercial building located at 45 Pray Street in Douglasville, Georgia serves as the shooting location for all of the Stranger Things scenes that take place in the town’s police station.

Police Chief Hopper always seems to be out in the fields somewhere (both literally and metaphorically). So while the building on Pray Street is an important icon for the show, it’s not nearly as prevalent as you might expect.

6. Downtown Hawkins

Every great fictional town needs its center, and the same is true for Hawkins. For filming purposes, the Stranger Things crew elected to run with the Town Square on Mulberry Street in Jackson, Georgia as its main filming location. It is also worth noting that both 2nd St. and Oak St. in Jackson are featured as part of the town’s center.

7. Hawkins National Laboratory

Emory University’s Briarcliff campus is located in Atlanta. For fans of the Netflix smash hit show, Stranger Things, it’s known as the location of Hawkins National Laboratory. While all of the building’s exterior shots were filmed on location, scenes that take place inside of the lab were actually filmed at EUE Screen Gems Studios in Atlanta.

8. That’s a Wrap!

For fans of Netflix’s Stranger Things, you can easily travel to the show’s filming locations by booking a cheap flight to Atlanta, renting a car and bouncing around from location to location, many of which are highlighted inside of this article.
