Making your way to Houston’s Airports
Houston’s largest and busiest airport is the George Bush Intercontinental Airport(IHA). Depending on traffic, it will take you about an hour’s driving time to get from downtown to the airport. If you want to take public transportation, METRO’s public bus route 102 connects to IHA and tickets are just $1.25. The airport consists of 5 large terminals. You can travel between terminals without having to leave the secure area. The TerminaLink train connects terminals B through E, and a bus service provides also transport between Terminals A, B and C. Every terminal also offers WiFi and a relief area for traveling pets.
If you’re flying with Southwest, you’ll need to get to William P. Hobby Airport(HOU). It’s a single-terminal airport, easy and convenient, especially for short trips. HOU is just 10 miles outside the city and the drive should take you about 20 minutes. You can also catch the METRO public bus route 88. The fare is $1.25. If you’re driving, the trip is about 20 minutes long. You’ll find Hobby’s pet relief area on the east side of the baggage claim area and just north of the passenger pickup area. WiFi is available throughout the terminal.
