It is the largest and most important airport in Columbia as it is responsible for over 46% of all of that country's air travel. Many vacationers come to Bogota for the warm sand and sunny beaches around the bay of Cienega de la Virgen which is located a mere 15 minutes from the center of town. If you are looking for a break from the beach, you can spend the day in the city taking in the culture and touring the beautiful architecture of the 16th and 17th centuries that the downtown area has to offer.
