Flying out of St. Louis

St. Louis Lambert International Airport (STL) is about 14 miles from downtown St. Louis, Missouri. If you're driving to the airport, you have seven parking options, including covered garages and economy lots. If you park in an outlying lot, you can take one of the free shuttle buses that run 24 hours a day.

Three major airports serve the New York City area: John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), LaGuardia (LGA), and Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR). You can get a direct flight from St. Louis to LaGuardia from American, Delta, or Southwest. Direct flights to Newark are available from Southwest and United. There are no direct flights from St. Louis to JFK, so if you want to fly there, you'll need to take a connecting flight.

The St. Louis airport has two terminals. American Airlines, Delta, and United depart from terminal 1, while Southwest departs from terminal 2. If you're traveling with children, you'll find a transportation-themed children's play area in concourse C of terminal 1. The airport has free wi-fi--but only for the first 20 minutes. Newark Liberty International Airport is in Newark, New Jersey, about 15 miles southwest of Manhattan. The airport has three terminals marked A, B, and C. Terminals A and B have four levels. Domestic flights from United will enter through terminal C, level 1. If you flew Southwest, you'll arrive on level 2 of terminal A.

From Newark, you can take AirTrain, a fast, affordable train that runs every hour. AirTrain connects with other public transportation systems to take you to Manhattan or several cities in New Jersey. Other forms of transportation from Newark include rental cars, buses, and taxis.
