Croatia

You may have heard about Croatia’s extreme natural beauty, of it being an amazing place to travel. Always finding itself at the top vacation lists, all of these things and more are true about this European country. Since it is situated on the Mediterranean and Adriatic Sea coastlines, the climate in Croatia is quite diverse. Expect to encounter some cold temperatures if traveling to its central and northern regions in the winter months.

However, venturing to the south means warmer weather and sunny beaches, not to mention some of the clearest, blue water you cannot find anywhere else. The summer is Croatia’s busiest tourist season, and this is one of the main reasons why! That and the wealth of medieval towns and buildings scattered across its amazing landscape. You will not regret a trip to the Dalmatian Coast, where there are literally a thousand different islands to explore!

Flights to Croatia

The country has a number of notable airports, with the key ones being Zagreb, Dubrovnik, and Split. Zagreb International, commonly referred to as Pleso Airport because of the nearby suburb of the same name, it is Croatia’s central airport and the main base of operations for the country’s Air Force and Air Defence. 2.3 million foreign and domestic passengers flew into Zagreb in 2013, a figure that continues to increase.

Understandably, it is also the main hub for Croatia Airlines, its designated flag carrier. A massive expansion to the airport’s passenger terminal was launched in the December of 2013, and is expected to be completed within three years. Once done, it is anticipated to increase Zagreb’s passenger capacity to 5.5 million. Lufthansa, Delta, United, British Airways, Air France, KLM, Swiss, Qatar Airlines, and US Airways all offer direct flights to Croatia.
