For such a short journey, direct flights make the most sense, and the route gives you plenty to choose from. Southwest offers 74 weekly non-stop flights from Phoenix Sky Harbor (PHX) to Las Vegas McCarran International(LAS). United has 46 on the same route. Making your way to Phoenix’s airports

Phoenix Sky Harbor International has three vast terminals, designated, 2, 3, and 4 (Terminal 1 was retired and torn down.) The airport’s SkyTrain connects all the terminals as well as the remote parking lot and the Metro Rail/bus connection at 44th and Washington streets. Amenities abound and there is free WiFi available everywhere in the airport, as well as five “pet parks” scattered throughout the terminals.

Because the airport is only three miles from downtown Phoenix, you have many options for getting to the PHX. The Metro Light Rail is well connected to the airport, and runs every 12 to 20 minutes depending on the day and time. There are several buses which connect to the SkyTrain station as well as various private shuttles.

Phoenix Mesa Gateway(AZA) is a much smaller and quieter airport located 20 miles southeast of the city. It’s most easily accessed by driving or taking a private shuttle.

Arriving in Las Vegas

Whatever your plans for your stay in Las Vegas, it’s going to be exciting. You might be a high roller or you might be happy to just hover over the slots, but that air of boundless possibility is inescapable. The world’s best entertainers flock here to strut their stuff for the world’s most entertained audiences. Everything is brighter, louder, and flashier, and the freedom to embrace whatever the place throws at you, from the heady highs to the tacky lows, is part of the thrill.

If you need a break from all of that pizazz and possibility, take a side trip to the wilderness just outside the city. If you’ve won big, take a helicopter ride over the grand canyon. If you’ve eaten humble pie, spend an evening contemplating the lonely grandeur of a desert sunset. No matter what, you’ll come away richer.
