What happened to Hipmunk?

Hipmunk was a travel metasearch engine that would scour the web (online travel agencies, airline websites, etc.) to find the best deals on flights, accommodations, and more. Its parent company, SAP Concur, decided to retire the brand and focus on other business objectives. So as of January 23, 2020, the Hipmunk app and website officially closed for business.

Anyone who used Hipmunk to book travel still had active reservations even after the company ceased operations. That's because you couldn't actually book in the app, but rather, Hipmunk flights were reserved through the third-party provider, such as an airline or travel agency.

When you're planning to visit multiple destinations, searching for and booking one-way tickets is a real hassle, especially when they're on different airlines. We built a multicity search tool so that you can quickly and easily find itineraries with the flight combinations you're looking for.

Price Alerts

If you aren't ready to book, you can let us keep an eye on your flight itineraries by setting a Price Alert. We'll notify you as soon as airfare rises or falls, so you can make your reservation as soon as the price is right.

Just like Hipmunk, Skyscanner is a travel search engine, so you won't book your airfare, hotels, or car rentals with us. Once you find the deal you like, we'll send you directly to the provider. Once on their site, you'll complete your reservation and pay. And if you later need to contact customer service, you'll reach out to the provider's representatives or manage your booking on your online portal.
