Airline Service and Flight Information

You can find flight service from Boston Logan Airport (BOS) to Buffalo Niagara (BUF) via four major airlines including Delta, American Airlines, JetBlue, and United.  Boston Logan averages approximately 51 flights per week to Buffalo Niagara with many direct flight options available via JetBlue and Delta, with average flights times hovering around one and a half hours.

If choosing a flight option that includes layovers, you will most likely find yourself making stops in Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey, John F Kennedy Airport in New York, or in Reagan National Airport in Washington D.C. You can expect most of the layovers to be relatively short stops ranging between 30 minutes and one hour, with longer ones averaging about two hours.

If you are flying out on Delta Airlines, you will need to plan your departure from terminal A.  Since you need to arrive early at the airport there are plenty restaurants, shops, and bars available in terminal A as well as places that offer entertainment options.  Terminal B will be your departure location if you are traveling via American Airlines or United.  If you find yourself with some extra time to wander the terminal be sure to check out the Flyby and Seascape art exhibits.  For those traveling on JetBlue, your departure may be from either terminal C or E so be sure to check your flight information ahead of schedule.

When arriving at Boston Logan Airport you will need to arrive approximately two hours prior to your departure time to get through security.  But if you would like to save a little more on your parking fees, arrive a little earlier and opt for off-site parking then take a shuttle to your terminal.

Arrival in Buffalo

The temperature and weather of Boston and Buffalo are very similar during most of the year.  You should have no problem packing the same clothes that you have in your wardrobe for the current season in Boston for your trip to the Buffalo area.

If your trip plans are to make a stop to Niagara Falls, you can opt for one of the multiple bus or shuttle options available to take you to both the U.S. and Canadian side of the falls, although you will require a passport or passport card to be able to cross the border.  For other destinations, the airport offers taxi, shuttle service, ride shares, public transportation, and a range of car rental options.  Some local hotels offer shuttle service for their guests as well.
