Frankfurt Airport (FRA) has a broad range of useful facilities that can be utilized by visitors, including showers, luggage storage and duty-free shopping. You can use the S-Bahn, a fast commuter train, to get into the heart of the city. Simply go to the regional train station, or Regionalbahnhof, in Terminal 1, and take either the S8 line or the S9 line. The S-Bahn can also be used to easily navigate around the attractions in the city. If you prefer to use taxis, you can also find them outside the terminal. Because the airport is so close to the city center and all of the major attractions the city offers, it is easy to go sightseeing straight from the airport and get to know Frankfurt.

Additionally, the Innenstadt District is popular due to its pedestrian shopping areas and cafes. Start with the Frankfurter Romer where you can view the unique architecture and visit the small shops in the square. Stop by one of the many local cafes for a sip of good coffee before continuing your day. If you love to view art, Staedel Museum is located along the Main promenade and houses collections of historic and contemporary art. The nearby Senckenberg Natural History Museum has numerous detailed exhibits that are visitor friendly. If you want to take an evening stroll, head to the Museumsufer. Here, you can enjoy the sunset and drink Apfelwein, or apple wine. Catch a football game at the Commerzbank-Arena, or visit the shops at MyZeil to find the perfect souvenir.

There are many events going on throughout the year within the city limits. In April, Art Frankfurt celebrates the work of new artists. Frühlings Dippemess, or the annual spring festival, features rides, wine and good food. In June, the summer festival Opernplatz allows locals and visitors to sample international cuisine and food from local vendors. In October, the Autumn Flower Show exhibits local flowers prior to the first snowfall. Horse racing events take place all year round.
