A few different carriers offer direct non-stop flights from London to Reykjavik, and many more offer flights with one stop elsewhere in Europe. The non-stop flights often boast the lowest fares, however, particularly those offered by budget carriers easyJet and WOW.

easyJet offers one early morning flight that departs from Luton Airport, which is about 25 miles north of London's downtown area. WOW has morning and evening direct flights available leaving from Gatwick Airport, which is about 29 miles south of the city. Iceland Air has daily direct flights departing from Heathrow, though fares on these flights are usually higher than the other options.

As with summer, in the depths of winter there is a period of a few weeks where there is only about three to five hours of sunlight. While winters are cold in Reykjavik, they are not as brutal as one might expect from a country called Iceland, with average temps in the high 30s and snow showers tending to be brief.
