Aspen-Pitkin County Airport (ASE)

Though the airport is small, it sees around 30 commercial flights each day, primarily from United Express and American Airlines. For those who plan to hit the slopes, you have four mountains to choose from: Aspen Mountain, Snowmass, Aspen Highlands and Buttermilk. You can purchase day passes to ski on these mountains or stay at one of the ski lodges or resorts located near the mountains for easy access to the slopes. For those who don't care to ski or snowboard, both Aspen Mountain and Snowmass have gondola rides to the top for scenic views and a front-row view of the sports action.

Aspen is a great place to visit year-round. While the city may be known for its outdoor activities, it is also a great music destination. Each September, the city plays host to the Jazz Aspen Snowmass, which feature a range of international and local artists. The Food & Wine classic also takes place in June and highlights the area's local food and drink. 

Pack plenty of warm clothing for your ski trip because winter temperatures tend to stay around freezing and drop down to the single digits at night. Summer, however, is surprisingly warm with high temperatures in the upper 70s and lower 80s, so you can easily enjoy the ample outdoor activities in the area.
