Departing From Salt Lake City
The flight route from Salt Lake City to Seattle is a bit circuitous and doesn't offer many options when it comes to airlines. You can fly this route via a couple of carriers, including American Airlines and Alaska Airlines. This means that you'll be using the Salt Lake City International Airport's Terminal A as your point of departure. Flying this route will take you about two hours on average.
While waiting to depart, you can enjoy the Salt Lake City International Airport's free WiFi and dozens of dining options. The Salt Lake City International Airport tends to be quiet, sparse with people, and lush with areas to sit and recharge while waiting, so expect to be able to move through its facilities quickly and efficiently.

There may be the occasional layover flight, but most flights along this route are direct. Layovers involve a short stay at LAX. You'll likely arrive in the Central Terminal's Concourse A, although sometimes your plane may taxi to Concourse B instead. Transit around the airport is easy via people movers or the tram.
Once you've collected your baggage, you can make your way to the transit hub, where you can hop on a bus, subway, Amtrak train, or international travel bus. Most of the transit options headed toward downtown Seattle operate quickly and efficiently, so don't worry too much about traffic or the cost of getting away from the airport. If you're interested in getting a rental car, you can also do so via the shuttle from the transit hub.
Once you're in Seattle, take the time to enjoy the excellent culinary scene and the vibrant arts community. If you're interested in sports, Seattle also boasts one of the country's best scenes, containing multiple stadia. Tourism is a major industry within Seattle, so many of the city's amenities are catered toward those who aren't familiar, making them very easy to use.
