Departing from Seattle-Tacoma International
Serving Washington’s SeaTac region, the airport can be found 1.5 miles west of Interstate 5, housed at the intersection of SR 99, 509, and 518. Seattle-Tacoma features a Central Terminal Building, four concourses, and two satellite terminals.
The smaller terminals are connected to the central building by an underground people mover system. Travelers also have the option of arriving via an integrated light rail system, which connects to SeaTac Airport Station. To ensure your trip to Portland gets started off right, Seattle Tacoma International has a dedicated meditation room for passengers who want to relax and unwind. It is found on the Mezzanine Level in the Main Terminal.
SeaTac also offer free WiFi throughout the entire facility, along with internet phones. Smokers must go to two designated outdoor areas (North and South ends of the Lower Drive). A Mother’s Room is available for nursing moms, and you can find many live musical performances scattered throughout the airport as well.
Portland Arrival
Portland is known for its bountiful microbreweries, food carts, and laid back atmosphere. With a city slogan like “Keep Portland Weird,” you can get a good idea of how down to earth the people living here are.
The nature scene in PDX is amazing; Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area, Forest Park, Oneonta Gorge, and Trillium Lake are definite sights to see. Take a tour of the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry and the Portland Art Museum while here, too. Seasonal festivities such as ChocolateFest and Jazz Festival run throughout the year, so there is never a bad time to visit.
