Finding cheap flights from Spokane International to Seattle: Frequently asked questions
Both Spokane and Seattle have the advantage of being surrounded by incredible landscapes, but sometimes you just need a taste of the big city. About 250 miles separate Spokane from its larger Washington cousin. You can make the hop in just 60 minutes, if you fly nonstop.
There’s only one airline offering direct service on this route, but don’t worry, you’ll still have your choice of flight times. Alaska Air offers more than 100 nonstop flights from Spokane International Airport(GEG) to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport each and every week.
Making your way to Spokane International Airport
Located about 5 miles west of downtown, Spokane International Airport is easy to reach by car, taxi, or private shuttle, though there are no actual public transportation links to the airport. Parking is extremely affordable, with rates as low as $4 per day, if you choose the North Shuttle Parking option. (The connecting shuttle is free and frequent.) There’s also a free car wash for all customers.
GEG consists of a single terminal divided into three concourses, A, B, and C. It’s quick and simple to navigate around this small airport, and there are some nice perks for passengers, including rocking chairs, free WiFi, and free baggage carts.
Arriving in Seattle
Washington weather is fickle in all parts of the state, so you’ll be well prepared for Seattle’s rainy reputation. The city is so walkable, and so lovely when toured on foot, that we highly recommend zipping up that jacket and ignoring any drizzle which comes your way. There’s so much to see in this city. One of the best free attractions is the Hiram M. Chittenden Locks down by the waterfront. They are functional, allowing boats to pass, but they are amazing to watch in action. Don’t forget to check out the fish ladder, which lets fish and other creatures through without harm and can be seen through underwater glass panels.
For more conventional but not-to-be-missed attractions, make sure to ascend the Space Needle Spire and visit at least one of Seattle’s great museums, such as the Pacific Science Museum or the Museum of History and Industry. If you love food, the restaurant scene here is vibrant and innovative, and foodie culture reigns. Check out the lively Pike Place Market, where fresh ingredients, flowers, and artisan foods of every type are for sale “19.5 hours a day, 363 days a year.”
