The Airports in Orlando and Houston

Two airports serve the Orlando area. Orlando International Airport (MCO) is located six miles southeast of Orlando and offers the vast majority of flights to Houston. MCO is the second busiest airport in Florida and has one main terminal that with two sides and three levels. Multiple airlines fly to the Texas city, including Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, and Delta. You can find nonstop flights from Spirit Airlines, Southwest Airlines, or United every day of the week. Orlando-Sanford International Airport (SFB) is the other airport in Orlando, but it offers very limited connecting flights to Houston from Interjet.

When flying into Houston, you can choose to land at William P. Hobby Airport (HOU) or George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH). Most flights from Orlando to Houston will arrive at HOU, located about 11 miles southeast of downtown Houston. HOU has one terminal that is divided into four traffic zones. To get to the city, you can take a taxi from Curb Zone 1 just outside baggage claim or the METRO from Curb Zone 3. You could also purchase tickets for the SuperShuttle at baggage claim, although advanced reservations are highly recommended. Car rental options are available as well, and HOU provides courtesy shuttle service to all car rental facilities. George Bush Intercontinental Airport is the largest of the two Houston airports and is the second busiest in Texas. What to Know When Departing from Orlando International

The TSA recommends arriving at the airport at least two hours before your domestic flight. When you arrive at MCO, you will check in on Level 3 of the Main Terminal and proceed to either the A-Side or B-Side. If you prefer, you could check-in and print your boarding pass before you arrive. All adult passengers must show valid identification at the airport checkpoint. Once you pass through security, a shuttle will transport you to your departing gate.
